Defiance

Defiance
by MrDaMan (Randy)
Virgil R. Hall II

Lost and found
dreams of easy street
shuffling happy feet
floating off the ground
greeting everyone one you meet
with smiles that are meant to beat
it ain’t gonna get me down
Cause I’m gonna own this town.

It ain’t the pennies, the nickels and dimes,
it ain’t the quarters, the dollars and times,
it ain’t the squalor the hatred and crimes,
that ain’t the city that I’ll make mine.

It’s the people of ambition you meet on the street,
The love of civilization of the skyscraper beat,
It’s the hiya how ya doin that makes it all sweet,
Get the hell out’a the kitchen if ya can’t stand the beat.

Come on, let’s get it on, let’s roll,
Come on, let’s get it on, let’s roll,
I’m gonna burn like fire consuming a soul,
I’ll be rolling like a rock and rocking the roll.
Come on, let’s get it on, let’s roll.

Lost and found
dreams of easy street
shuffling happy feet
floating off the ground
greeting everyone one you meet
with smiles that are meant to beat
it ain’t gonna get me down
Cause I’m gonna own this town.

Crush

Crush suede soul gone velvet smooth
Crushhhhhh

On the jagged edges of strife, rolling with the punches and weaving with your hunch’s, this is your life.

Eclectic spirit jazzed on a spike hearted groove,
ummm Red shoes… I’m paying empathy’s dues.
You gotta move, you gotta move

Sharpwater

Sharpwater
by MrDaMan
Virgil R. Hall II (Randy)

Its what your dreams are made of.
It’s what your fears are made of.
It’s what your life is made of.

Star dust in a black box,
imagination stressed to reality,
starving within for knowledge without.

Streaming consciousness pressed to the
souls window, enthralled by all that glitters.
Elements of matter, enlightened by curiosity,
and energized by shadows of doubt.

Stretched across the breadth of mind,
emotional experience beats its rhythm,
upon a passionate universe, exploding in
chaos and patterns of quantum dissonance.

It’s what your dreams are made of,
animals and gods of the night sky.

It’s what your fears are made of,
shadows and the unknown force of mortality.

It’s what your life is made of,
the dust of stars who’s light has traveled
billions of years to greet you.

We dance under the weight of the gravity
that permeates the vastness of everything.
We think and we know, we think, we know.
A pleasurable pain is all that remains.

Breathtaking

Breathtaking
by MrDaMan
Virgil R. Hall II (Randy)

The end comes with such alarming speed as time accelerates from the beginning. Zero to sixty in sixty years, from the daze of discovery through fields of wonder. To meadows of bones of contention. Wizened spirits compete for soul comforts even as the twilight dims on the horizon.

Far off and away there are souls in the centers of galaxy’s devouring the density and weight of star dust. So dark they can’t be seen but felt as their influence can not be denied. Perceptions of universal gravity conceptualizing time.
What law of reality conceives something from nothing?

Consumers of beginnings and endings, and of the ticking space in between. Scrabbling in concept and clawing at the fabric of consciousness, howling in passions of mortality.
Energy contained in flesh, brief sparks of significant something, in something so magnificent it sparkles.

Breathtaking ahhh… so complexly simple.
Breathtaking ahhh… so simply complex.
Breathtaking ahhh…
