Young love is so supple,

wide eyed and innocent.

It dances with promises,

before sunrises can prove

shadows of fantasies.


It breaks so easily,

shattering minds like glass.

Hearts rendering reality

and picking up pieces

of broken promises.


Trying fruitlessly

to mend unrealistic perfection,

youth grows wise while

stitching time and learning to sow…

seeds and manage healthy roots.


The soul is a scared garden… and

some say it’s callused love

or selfishness that demurs delineation

but Old Love knows there’s no such thing,

as love without limitation.
